The word “pansol” literally means a spring of hot or cold water. And the town of Pansol in Laguna is famous for its abundance of hot springs with therapeutic benefits. My understanding and experience of Pansol, though, is that the highlight is really the hot springs, not the amenities or facilities as my prior experiences since childhood were quite average.
I was pleasantly surprised, then, when my travel companions and I first saw our villa at Casa Primera with its inviting hot spring pools and its minimalist yet beautiful architecture. And, the beds are comfy too!
All these can be experienced for less than P600 per person assuming an overnight stay (12 hours) with 35 people. Of course, the more people, the lesser the cost. 45 people (the maximum comfortable capacity of the villa) need only pay less than P500 each. Meanwhile, a group of 15 would pay less than P1000 each.
Our group stayed at Casa Primera’s villa for 22 hours, the longest period they offer. We checked in late evening – perfect time for a hot spring dip! After dinner and drinks, some of us had a nighttime swim – in between singing their hearts out at the videoke – while the others had an early morning dip.
The next morning, aside from swimming, we checked out the villa’s roof deck, where a more sweeping view of Mt. Makiling is visible.
Later, we paid a visit to the neighboring and still-under-development Casa Tropica, hot spring villas with a tropical-inspired design. If the view of Makiling from Casa Primera is already beautiful, the view from Casa Tropica is even moreso!
For the rest of the day, we just relaxed, talked, swam, sang, or slept at Casa Primera. We left sometime after sunset.
Casa Primera is perfect for family outings, corporate gatherings, and just about for any group. Inquiring and booking ahead is a breeze. In Pansol, where walk-ins are common, Casa Primera’s founders and owners wanted to set up a resort where reservations are efficient and convenient.

How to get there
If commuting, ride a bus to Sta. Cruz, Laguna, from Buendia Taft or from Cubao. Upon reaching the National Highway in Calamba (you can ask the conductor for help), look for Monte Vista and Southwinds resort on the right then Iglesia ni Cristo church on your left. Look for the Casa Primera Laguna Hot Spring signages.
If driving, take the SLEX and later, the Calamba exit. Drive straight toward the Calamba town proper junction and turn right. After around 8 kilometers, you will see the Iglesia ni Cristo church on the left side. Turn left on the next street and follow the Casa Primera Laguna Hot Spring signages.
