Saddle up this summer and enjoy discovering places you’ve never had the fortune to visit before. Cycling holidays give you the opportunity to accomplish new challenges and the summer months are a great time to take the plunge and go for it.
Here are three superb cycling breaks to help inspire you, no matter how experienced you are on a bike.
Selva, Italy
Tucked away in the heart of The Dolomite mountain range, Selva is an ideal resort, whatever your proficiency. From the easy, beginner trail – the Gardena Valley Tour – to the challenging rides that are part of the Sellaronda Tour, you can choose a route that suits you perfectly. With over 1000km of trails and 30 signposted routes, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Saalbach, Austria
As one of the top destinations for mountain biking, Saalbach offers some incredible terrains to master while appreciating some breathtaking views of the snow-capped Alps. From the steep and craggy downhill trails to the smooth rides through the meadows, it’s a resort that will suit any capabilities.
Kranjska Gora, Slovenia
The Zgornjesavska Valley would suit all abilities; whether you want an easy ride or something a little more challenging in the mountains, there’ll be something among the 150km of trails and paths here, waiting for you, including a new bike park where you can show off your moves and tricks!
Whether you’re new to cycling holidays or are accustomed to the trips, Neilson will almost definitely be able to find you a resort that will suit you and your abilities. From the absolute beginners who barely know the saddle from the pedal, to expert cyclists who have been riding for years, a holiday atop a saddle offers the chance to see the world using a different medium. While beach holidays may be a popular choice this summer, if you’d like to be a little more active and have the chance of exploring rustic villages and winding lanes, cycling holidays could be perfect for you.
Note: While I love biking, I have not yet gone biking to the countries mentioned in this blog post, though Europe is part of my bucket list. I have not personally tried Neilson’s services yet, but based on basic Internet research, they seem to be a reputable company.
